Functional Requirements for Explosion-proof Electric Ball Valves
According to the engineering control requirements, for electric ball valves, their control functions are accomplished by the electric actuator. The purpose of applying electric ball valves is to achieve non-manual electrical control or computer control of the opening, closing, and regulation of the valve. Currently, the application of electric actuators is not just for labor conservation. Due to significant differences in the functions and quality of products from different manufacturers, the selection of electric actuators and the valves they are paired with are equally important for the project. 

The usage environment of explosion-proof electric ball valves
In addition to paying attention to the pipeline parameters, special attention should be given to the environmental conditions in which explosion-proof electric ball valves are used. Since the electric device in the explosion-proof electric ball valve is an electromechanical equipment, its environmental conditions have a significant impact.
Under normal circumstances, electric ball valves and butterfly valves should be used with particular caution in the following environments:
1. Indoor installation or outdoor application with protection;
2. Outdoor open-air installation, exposed to wind, sand, rain, dew, sunlight, etc.;
3. Environments with flammable and explosive gases or dust;
4. Wet tropical and dry tropical regions;
5. Pipeline medium temperature above 450℃;
6. Ambient temperature below -20℃;
7. Prone to waterlogging or immersion in water;
8. Environments with radioactive substances (nuclear power plants and radioactive substance testing facilities);
9. Environments on ships or in shipyards (with salt spray, mold, and humidity);
10. Environments with severe vibration; environments prone to fire.
For electric ball valves in the above environments, the structure, materials, and protection methods of the electric actuator are all different. Therefore, the corresponding electric actuator should be selected based on the above environments.
