Newway ANSI 150LB CF8M Stainless Steel Flange Floating Ball Valve (PTFE Seal)
I. Product Overview
Newway ANSI 150LB floating ball valve is a high-performance flow control solution engineered for corrosive and general industrial pipelines. Crafted from CF8M (316 stainless steel), it features a floating ball structure, PTFE seals, and flange connections to handle water, steam, oil, and aggressive chemicals like nitric acid and acetic acid. Operating at 150LB (2.0MPa) and -29℃~180℃, it complies with API 6D, API 608, and JIS standards. Designed for 1/2″~10″ (DN15~DN250) pipelines, it balances corrosion resistance, reliable sealing, and ease of operation—ideal for water treatment, petrochemical, and food processing industries where durability and media compatibility are critical.

Product Overview
III. Features Description
Floating Ball Structure: The ball “floats” freely, relying on media pressure to press against PTFE seats, creating a self-tightening seal. This design simplifies construction, reduces weight, and ensures reliable sealing in medium-pressure systems (≤150LB), making it ideal for frequent on-off operations.
PTFE Seal Performance: PTFE seats with glass fiber reinforcement offer exceptional chemical inertness, resisting acids, alkalis, solvents, and oils—critical for pharmaceutical and chemical processes where media purity is required. The reinforcement prevents cold flow (deformation under pressure), ensuring long-term sealing integrity.
CF8M Corrosion Resistance: CF8M (316 stainless steel) outperforms CF8 (304) in chloride-rich environments, resisting pitting and crevice corrosion in seawater, brine, and coastal applications. It is particularly suited for media containing chlorides, such as swimming pool water or industrial wastewater.
Safety-Enhanced Design:
Anti-blowout stem: A mechanical shoulder on the stem prevents ejection under pressure, eliminating leakage risks in high-pressure scenarios.
Anti-static device: Metal springs connect the ball to the body, dissipating static electricity to reduce spark hazards in flammable media (e.g., natural gas).
API 607 fire-safe option: Metal backup seals maintain sealing if PTFE degrades in fire, meeting safety standards in oil & gas facilities.
Full Bore/Reduce Bore Options: Full bore minimizes pressure drop for high-flow systems (e.g., water mains); reduce bore balances cost and performance for low-flow applications (e.g., metering lines), offering flexibility for diverse pipeline needs.
IV. Manufacturing Processes
Precision Casting: CF8M stainless steel is investment-cast to form valve bodies and balls, ensuring uniform material density and dimensional accuracy. Castings undergo strict visual and ultrasonic inspections to eliminate defects like porosity.
Heat Treatment: Cast components are solution-annealed at 1050℃ for 30 minutes, then water-quenched to dissolve carbide precipitates. This process enhances corrosion resistance by stabilizing the microstructure, critical for CF8M’s chloride resistance.
Precision Machining: Ball and seat surfaces are CNC-ground to a surface finish of Ra ≤0.8μm, ensuring uniform contact with PTFE seals. Flange faces are machined to ANSI B16.5 tolerances, ensuring compatibility with standard gaskets and mating flanges.
Seal Assembly: PTFE seats are compression-molded to match ball contours, then pre-loaded into the valve body to maintain contact pressure. This pre-loading compensates for temperature-induced expansion/contraction, ensuring consistent sealing across operating ranges.
Testing & Inspection:
Hydrostatic Test: The valve body is tested at 3.0MPa (1.5×150LB) for 30 minutes; seats are tested at 2.2MPa (1.1×150LB) to verify zero leakage.
Operational Test: 100+ open/close cycles with manual operation to ensure smooth movement and consistent sealing.
Material Verification: Spectral analysis confirms CF8M’s chemical composition (18Cr-12Ni-2.5Mo), validating corrosion resistance claims.
